Presented by Eboni Fondren & VAMP Kansas City
This Juneteenth, 515 Music Hub becomes the stage for something truly special. Black Velvet Revue is a one-night-only celebration honoring the rich legacy of Black burlesque, jazz, cabaret, and creative expression — in Kansas City and across the country.
Inspired by the legendary Black entertainment culture of KC's 18th & Vine district and historic performers like Evelyn Lee, Irene McLaurin, Adah Jeanne Leake, and Zella Mae Moten of The Ebony Dancers, Black Velvet Revue celebrates freedom through music, movement, glamour, sensuality, and unapologetic artistry. Black performers have always created spaces of joy, liberation, resistance, and visibility — and this evening pays tribute to that history while lifting up the modern artists who carry the legacy forward.
Starring Aleis Noir, featuring Lady Lush & The Midnight Mood, with live jazz band and vocals. A night of tribute, celebration, and community unlike anything else this summer.
